Awake= "Playstation Games like playing with Radioactive waste!!"
by Witness 007 inawake 2008 jan.p.19 "choosing to play violent and immoral games is like choosing to play with radioactive waste.
the damaging effects may not be immediatley obvious, but they are inevitable.
exposure in high doses of radiation can destroy the lining of the stomach and allow bacteria from the intestines to invade the bloodstream, resulting in sickness.

First rock concert
by JK666 ini have recently talked with other members on jwd about the first time they went to a concert.
it was interesting the different choices of artists, and the age we were when we finally went to one.. my first was after i got my driver's license, so i was 16 years old.
i went to see a concert with black oak arkansas, foghat, and montrose (when sammy hagar was just a pup).

not counting local bands and not so rocky concerts, i think my first real good rock concert was "savatage". years later i saw them again with a different singer. if they ever tour around here again, i'll be there. they ROCK!
i've also seen toto 3 times, although i only like and know about 3 of their songs. been to megadeth, malmsteen, dio, colosseum, some ex-scorpions guys, and what not. i also went to some pop concerts... alanis morrisette, cranberries, nelly furtado... hmm i don't even remember all the gigs i went to. but nothing compares to savatage. -

i really spent too much time in world of warcraft. luckily i'm pretty much cured by now. at the moment i like to play some "hitman contracts" now and then. you can't be too picky when it comes to games on a mac.

Is it better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all ?
by strawberry cake inin other words from the jw point of view, only marry another jw.
he also quoted some anonymous person who said that.. "what is worst than being single is being married to the wrong person"....personally, my view is "it is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all?"..
the wts are allowing many, mainly sisters to live lonely lives because of this directive to only marry other jws.

Women: Do you pray in presence of men?
by outofthebox indo you still find it difficult to pray for the family, let's say, if your husband or another man is present?
do you still feel uncomfortable to do it?.

Remember when assemblies were fun?
by Aphrodite ini just remembered when i was a kid and we would go to the assembly, it was fun because we got to buy new clothes and put extra effort into looking good.
when we would get there you could save your seats and even save some for your friends, then go off looking for them.. i used to love our circuit assembly because of the food.
it was at the assembly hall and there was a big kitchen, some of my favourite brothers worked in that kitchen, sometimes i was allowed to go in and help.

in the circuit assemblies sisters and brothers would bring cakes and pies and sell them for donation money. i didn't have my own money back then, but that was the only way to have me donate. there was also that young pioneer sister who didn't wear a bra and you could see it. man did i love cakes... district assemblies had hot dogs, sandwiches or wiener schnitzel along with coke/fanta/sprite (we never got this at home) and ice pops. you had to buy vouchers for the food, because that way they got around the VAT. later the laws where changed and they would have had to pay taxes, that's why they stopped serving food. and yes, that was when they took out the fun.

How many Memorials have you attended and missed?
by JH insince 1987, i must have went to about 16 memorials and missed about 5.
-
Superfine Apostate
havent missed one. this year might be the first time, depening on my wife. she does not want to go to meetings anymore, but missing a memorial is something bigger... if we go, we'll be sitting in the second room and leave before anyone could talk to us.
